Capital Projects Manager

Universal Realty Group is a Halifax-based property management company known for setting the standards of excellence in residential accommodation, development and commercial leasing. We are currently seeking a qualified, Capital Project Property Manager/Building Enhancement Manager

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Attending all job related meetings
  • Visits to existing residential and commercial buildings, reviewing any items required to be completed for building enhancements such as new lobbies, corridors, tenant fit ups, Unit standards.
  • Meetings with designers
  • Reviewing current building capital issues such as any leaks, HVAC issues
  • Obtaining pricing for enhancements and major repairs via tenders
  • Managing all projects at the buildings
  • Conducting contractor weekly meetings for each project
  • Managing the subcontractors to ensure adherence to the project construction, schedule and the budget
  • Ability to understand building codes and ensure upkeep
  • obtaining quotes where required and negotiating
  • Understanding of plans
  • understanding of project estimating, budgets and timelines, and be able to prepare


Your qualifications include:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience required
  • Understanding of building envelopes, interiors etc…
  • Well-groomed and professional.
  • Reliable and flexibility are considered and asset
  • Trustworthy / confidentiality
  • Writing Skills, Reporting Skills, Scheduling
  • Microsoft Office Skills, Organization, Time Management
  • Presentation Skills, Travel Logistics, Verbal Communication
