Chief Financial Officer
John has been the Chief Financial Officer for Universal for almost eleven years. He is responsible for all financial activities including monthly review of financial statements, the reporting of results to owners and overseeing both the budget and year end audit processes. He leads a team of seven well-experienced accountants who ensure that reports are prepared on a timely basis.
John holds a Master of Business Administration and is a Certified General Accountant. He received his fellowship designation in 2006 for volunteer work done with his accounting association.
General Manager, Commercial
Combining in excess of 15 years of building systems experience and 10 years of property administration, Rob’s responsibilities include leasing, property and equipment inspections, capital projects and new construction.
His portfolio consists of a total of 700,000 square feet of combined office, industrial and retail space. He oversees and works closely with on-site building engineers, along with administration, accounting and capital projects staff.
Capital Projects Manager
Pam is responsible for new developments, various leasehold renovations and capital projects at existing buildings.
After working for Universal Properties for over 17 years, Pam has vast knowledge of operations both internally and out in the field, overseeing numerous positions. Her most recent project is The Abigail Apartment Residences I, I & III located at Larry Uteck in Bedford.
Pam considers Universal to be her second family. Not only has Pam grown up with the company, she has continued to develop with the company and its successful growth.
General Manager, Operations
Jonathan’s new position revolves around managing the day to day operations of the company. This includes all portfolios such as commercial properties, residential properties and development. The new position also entails full asset management, staffing, budgeting, and general day-to-day operation functions. Overseeing on-site building staff, keeping revenue up and expense costs minimal. Daily and financial reporting, along with leasing, receivables and vacancies.
He brings a wide variety of knowledge and experience from his 16 years as an employee for Universal Realty Group along with being a member of the board for Spring Garden Business Association. He enjoys the team working environment that Universal employees maintain on a daily basis.
Wanda’s position is focused on the Commercial Property Industry. She has been an integral member of the Universal Properties team for 19 years.
Her responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing the preparation of financial reports, correspondence to the owners, tenants and building staff. Preparation of lease agreements, along with general daily administrative duties pertaining to commercial properties.
Sherri is responsible for Commercial and Retail leasing and started at Universal Properties 7 years ago. Her background education consists of a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University. Prior to her employment with Universal; Sherri worked in real estate and Hotel Sales.
When asked what she likes about working for Universal, she replied, there is a continued commitment to service that she most enjoys, as well as having the opportunity to work with dedicated and talented people.
Sherri’s passions include community causes centering on disadvantaged and socially challenged members within our community, motor biking, and skiing.
